About KDA Web Services
KDA Web Services was founded in April 2000 by Karl Austin and Dean Krause, and is a privately owned Limited company. The company was formed to meet the needs of several of Karl's programming clients at the time, as there were no affordable and reliable hosting solutions for PHP & mySQL driven sites at the time in the UK and even scarcer were those who really knew how to support the emerging technologies of the time.
Early on in the life of the company, we made one of our most fundamental decisions, that we would strive to own as much of our infrastructure as it was feasibly possible to do, without damaging the financial position of the company. With that in mind, we own outright all of our server hardware, networking equipment, power equipment and equipment racks that we use day to day. The only things we don't own, are the Data Centre facility we use, the companies that provide us with Internet connectivity and the companies that provide the control software we utilise on some of our servers.
As a company, we believe in slow, controlled growth of our business, rather than unpredictable rapid expansion periods, we believe this allows us to provide a better, more consistent service to our customers. Having slower growth, also allows us to plan our expansion better and have the resources in place for growth, before they are needed - Rather than having to rush the implementation of resources during a period of rapid growth, which often causes more problems later on, something many of our competitors have found to their detriment.
